It has been three years since I joined SYZ Machine. When I entered the workplace just after graduation, I was a new employee with mostly textbook knowledge and very little understanding of international trade in practice. Over these three years, I have gradually built up my product knowledge and learned the full workflow from product details and quotations to order follow-up. Step by step, theory became practical ability.
Some of the most valuable experiences came from working with customers in person. I attended the Shanghai Frankfurt exhibition with the team and had the opportunity to meet customers from different countries. I also helped receive visiting customers, including Inovoal Rabinstein, and accompanied them through the factory while carefully coordinating their requirements. I moved from feeling nervous and constrained in front of international customers to communicating with much greater confidence.
Those experiences taught me that international trade is not simply about taking orders. It requires professionalism, sincerity, and service, as well as the ability to see a project from the customer’s point of view and build a relationship for the long term. One of my greatest sources of good fortune has been the reliable and warm team around me. International business is never a one-person job. We have shared the pressure of exhibitions, customer communication, and order follow-up, as well as the satisfaction of winning new customers and reaching new goals. Working side by side every day has also helped me build a strong sense of belonging in Shanghai.
Outside work, my colleagues have encouraged me to try activities I would not have chosen on my own, including paddleboarding, hiking, cycling, and yoga. Through these relaxed moments, I discovered that I could enjoy sports and new experiences. The time we have spent together has created friendships that are both deep and valuable.
My biggest change has not only been professional. When I first joined, I was not very confident and often became anxious or lost in overthinking. Through customer meetings, exhibitions, and daily work, I have learned to steady my emotions, focus on the task in front of me, and accept my own limitations. Today I feel calmer, more mature, and more secure in myself. SYZ has taught me practical trade skills, but it has also taught me how to work with people and approach life with more energy.
