I officially joined SYZ Machine on June 22, 2026, the day of the summer solstice. For me, it was also the beginning of a new chapter. Before joining SYZ, I had completed an international trade internship in the packaging industry. Automotive parts were a completely new field, so I felt both nervous about the unfamiliar environment and excited about the opportunity to learn.
At first, rod ends, spherical bearings, ball joints, and machined components were all unfamiliar. Learning about different materials, manufacturing processes, and surface treatments was especially challenging because my high-school background was in the humanities and I had not studied much physics or chemistry. That difficulty made me realize that I needed to take responsibility for my own learning.
I began keeping notes on everything I learned and continued reviewing company materials after work. I also used AI tools to help organize information and improve the efficiency of customer development. Little by little, I began to understand how to identify customers, analyze their needs, and write more focused outreach messages. One Indian customer left a particularly strong impression on me. For more than two weeks, we discussed product models, differences between options, surface treatments, dimensions, and other details. One Saturday morning, I started working on the customer’s inquiry at 6 a.m. because I wanted to understand the request clearly and provide a more accurate response. The project ultimately did not move forward because of the payment process, and the customer stopped replying. I felt disappointed and anxious at first, but I gradually understood that not every effort produces an immediate result.
Every conversation still adds to our experience. Bill and Jenny patiently helped me with unfamiliar product questions, quotations, and order procedures. Their support helped me adapt faster and made me feel that the team was willing to support a new employee.
Later, by continuing to follow up with shared prospects, I successfully moved a Ukrainian customer toward an order. When the customer finally confirmed the order after many conversations and periods of waiting, I was genuinely happy. It was more than a sale; it was recognition of the learning and persistence behind it.
I still have a great deal to learn about products, the industry, and business development. But growth is built through practice and reflection, not achieved in one step. I am grateful for the opportunity SYZ has given me, and I will continue learning, improving my professional ability, and creating more value with the company.
