Five Years of Warmth and Support

"A workplace becomes home when people support both your work and the life around it."

I joined SYZ Machine on November 29, 2021. It still feels surprising that I have been here for almost five years. When I first arrived, Linlin and Bill invited me to eat with the operations team around the office table. Everyone looked after the new person, shared food, and exchanged little stories from the day. I was touched, although as an introvert I usually kept that feeling to myself. The warmth helped me settle into a new environment very quickly.

In my second year, the company prepared a birthday cake for me on the birthday shown on my identity card. I was taking photos of my mother in Thames Town when the message arrived, so the surprise was unforgettable. During the pandemic, colleagues also helped deliver groceries to my family. When I reached an important stage in my own life and had a child, the company continued to support me. The leaders came to ask about the baby, sent their congratulations, and extended my work-from-home period when my family needed additional help. I remain deeply grateful for that understanding.

Work makes me feel happy and fulfilled, and Bill has been an important guide. He has helped me with closing orders, customer communication, and working with colleagues, and he has shared practical advice about life as well. I feel lucky to have a leader who is willing to teach, learn, and move forward with me. SYZ has given me many memorable firsts: my first villa team gathering, first camping picnic, first time buying Christmas gifts for my parents, first trip to China’s northernmost region, first hike, first water activity, and first football, basketball, and badminton competitions. The list continues to grow, and I am always curious about the next first.

If I had to summarize SYZ in two words, I would say “wonderful company.” I feel fortunate that I interviewed and joined the team at the end of 2021. I hope the next five years bring just as many meaningful experiences.
